Four steps. No mystery. No black box.
A good bartender never just hands you a drink and walks off — you know what's in it. Here's exactly what happens at each stage of a Trading Tavern round, and exactly what you're clicking.
1. Scan
What it does: Our models scan live market data around the clock, looking for setups that match one of our menu buckets — momentum, mean-reversion, value, or the high-risk speculative plays.
What happens if you click it: Nothing fires yet — Scan just surfaces candidates onto your dashboard with a calibrated probability attached. No trade, no money moves.
How to execute it: Open the Taproom dashboard, watch the Scan feed fill up. You don't need to do anything here except read.
2. Review
What it does: Each candidate gets carded — a probability estimate, holding-period estimate, and risk class (from House Lager's steady pours to Penny Casino's 2%-capped shots).
What happens if you click it: Clicking a candidate opens the full card: the model's confidence, the historical calibration for setups like it, and the exact position size Quarter-Kelly recommends.
How to execute it: Tap any card in your Scan feed to expand it. Nothing commits until you hit Approve.
3. Approve
What it does: This is the order approval gate — the one control that never gets skipped. No trade reaches your broker without you explicitly approving it.
What happens if you click it: On Paper, it fires a simulated fill instantly. On Live Connect, it routes the order to your own connected broker for real execution — under the position-size cap you set.
How to execute it: Hit Approve on the card. You can also set an auto-decline threshold so anything under your minimum confidence never even asks.
4. Watch
What it does: Tracks the position from fill to close, logs the outcome against the original probability, and folds it into our public Truth Meter — win, lose, or push.
What happens if you click it: Opens the position's live P&L and its running effect on our calibration score. Every settled trade — good or bad — gets posted.
How to execute it: Your Watch tab updates automatically. Nothing to click except curiosity.
Why the gate matters
Plenty of apps auto-fire trades and call it "smart." We think that's how you end up owning something you never agreed to buy. Every single trade at Trading Tavern needs your approval — that's not a limitation, that's the whole point.
